I know duh – drink more water is common sense but last week after telling my friend for the millionth time that I’m sick of my weight not budging she questioned my water intake. How much per day? Of course everyone thinks they drink enough water but unless you’re tracking and paying attention, chances are not so much.
The water conversation continued and she recommended upping water to 96 ounces per day. Ironically I came across Your Guide to Healthy Hormones. Same recommendation – 96 ounces (two-three quarts). Why??
Our bodies are 70 percent water, and it is considered a nutrient, optimizing digestive function and elimination of toxins from your body. You should have at least one completely clear urination per day. Definitely not paying attention to the clear urination.
So I’m challenging myself to drink more water. The easiest way is to use a 24 ounce (or larger) BPA-Free water bottle. I’m using this Thermos Nissan Intak Water Bottle. Only takes four fills and I’m good for the day. Sounds easy right?
UPDATE: Thanks to our reader Chabree who pointed out that the Thermos water bottle has a rotating meter on the lid that tracks water consumption!!!
It’s only been a few days but the water bottle goes everywhere with me and now that I can track from the bottle this is going to be no problem. I also add a 1/2 lemon to jazz up the flavor. The bland taste is probably what prevents most from not drinking enough.
Sometimes ya need a little help and a few tips. This is a great post by One Good Thing by Jillee – 23 Tips for Drinking More Water Each Day.

Only time will tell if this will help balance my hormones and help with losing weight. It can’t hurt that’s for sure.
